Faded pavers are one of those things homeowners write off too quickly. The assumption is usually that they need to be replaced - but most of the time, that's not true at all. What they actually need is the right prep work followed by a quality seal, and the difference it makes is hard to overstate.

Here's what we were working with - a large brick-paver driveway that had lost most of its color and looked dull and washed out. The kind of fade that happens gradually, so you stop noticing it until you see a photo side by side. The pavers themselves were in solid shape structurally. They just needed attention.

Before any sealer goes down, the surface has to be right. We cleaned everything thoroughly, got the joints re-sanded, and made sure the whole surface was prepped the way it needs to be. Skipping that step is exactly why some sealed driveways look patchy or start peeling - the sealer is only as good as what's underneath it. We don't cut corners on prep.

Once the Poseidon finish went on, the color came back completely. The warm earth tones in the brick are sharp again, the joint lines are clean and defined, and the whole driveway has a rich, even finish across every square foot. That's what proper paver sealing actually looks like when it's done right.

Replacing pavers costs a lot more than sealing them. If your driveway has gone flat and dull, it's worth getting a real look at what's going on before you make that call. Chances are, it just needs what this one got.
